09 Feb Shadow Program Launching in March
New Program providing young professionals and students with workplace experience and networking opportunities
The Canadian Chapter of IECA is proud to host the Shadow Program – a day in the life of an environmental industry professional for student members and young professionals entering the workforce.
What Is It?
The program provides individuals with one-day placements with leading companies in the industry, in which the individuals will shadow professionals and experience hands-on tasks in the workplace and field.
The program aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to experience their dream job alongside industry professionals from a top industry business. It also gives these individuals a feel for workplace responsibilities, a chance to apply their education, increase their professional network, and meet possible future employers.
APPLY BY FEBRUARY 20 TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PILOT PLACEMENT
Our pilot placement is during the week starting February 27th, and the employer is our Cornerstone Member, GEMS Inc, an Environmental Specialists for the Construction Industry. The placement is environmental monitoring based and takes the student right onto the job site. You can see the placement listing and apply here. For this specific placement we are looking for students eager to students who are willing to help promote and improve our program by writing about your experience.
All applicants must be a member of the Canadian Chapter of IECA, choose a placement and meet it’s requirements, then apply through a quick application. After placement, application will reflect on their experience.
